Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and DMG Mori

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and DMG MoriThe relationship between Aston Martin Red Bull Racing (www.redbullracing.com) and Coventry-based DMG Mori (www.uk.dmgmori.com) has been in place since 2004, with the latter becoming an Innovation Partner in 2012.

By the end of 2018, AMRBR’s Milton Keynes manufacturing facility will house 19 DMG Mori machines, following the addition of a DMU 40 eVo linear and a DMU 60 eVo linear.

Parts from a wide range of materials — including composite materials, titanium, magnesium, steel, aluminium, PEEK and Densamet — are manufactured at the factory, with the five-axis technology offered by the DMG Mori machines playing a crucial role in the efficient and accurate milling necessary to meet the demands of F1.

Manufacturing at the Milton Keynes factory is almost 24/7, so robust and reliable machine tools are extremely important.

As part of the Innovation Partnership, DMG Mori provides servicing and support designed to ensure maximum reliability and minimum downtime.

The relationship also sees AMRBR’s drive for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes benefit from DMG Mori’s technical support.

Jamie Meades, head of manufacturing at AMRBR, said: “We are excited to extend our Innovation Partnership with DMG Mori.

"Having worked with the company since 2004, this renewal will allow us to build on the relationship to ensure we that deliver our continuous-improvement plans in the production of components crucial to the performance of our cars.”
