Creaform (www.creaform3d.com) , which was established in Canada and is now a world-wide leader in portable 3-D measurement solutions and engineering services, has opened a new office in Barcelona, Spain — further continuing its global market expansion and completing “another important step in strengthening our offerings within Europe”.

Local staff have been in place since July, responding to the increasing demand for metrology systems and services from the Spanish market — especially from the automotive and aerospace sectors, which are key industries for Creaform.

Spain is the world’s eighth-largest automobile producer and Europe’s second-largest. In the aerospace industry, Spain is ranked eighth in the world and fifth in Europe — in terms of turnover.

Marc-Antoine Schneider, Creaform’s territory manager, said: “With Spain’s recent economic and industrial development, there are many potential opportunities, along with a growing demand for new technologies — such as our portable and automated 3-D measurement solutions.

"Going ‘local’ with a direct sales presence and service office was a logical move for us. Creaform will continue to work with established distributors to further strengthen our presence in the region.”

Over the last two years, Creaform has opened offices in Brazil, Italy, Singapore and South Korea.
