For more than 80 years, Sandvik has been a world-leading developer and manufacturer of stainless steel and nickel filler metals for welding applications.

To broaden and enhance its portfolio of specialty alloys, Esab Welding & Cutting Products acquired the Sandvik welding-consumables business, finalising the transaction earlier this year.

These products will go on the market from 1 November under the name Exaton, which is an ESAB brand.

The product packaging will be updated to reflect the new Exaton brand and logo, but the product itself will retain its current labelling.

The contents of the Sandvik Web site, including specifications and material safety data sheets, will be transferred to the Esab Web site (www.esab.com).

The Exaton portfolio includes solid welding wires and rods, flux-cored wire, MMA electrodes, strip electrodes, flux, thermal spray wire and weld-finishing chemical products.
