Producer of metal powders to expand its operationsQuebec-based AP&C, a GE Additive-owned producer of metal powders for the additive-manufacturing market, has announced a significant expansion of its operations in the Saint-Eustache suburb of Montreal after buying a second plot (of nearly 40,000m2) in the Innoparc Albatros business district, where it has had a presence since 2016.

This will lead to the creation of a number of jobs.

CEO Alain Dupont (www.advancedpowders.com) said: “Our firm is currently enjoying rapid growth, and we need more space for our projects, along with a good location for drawing fresh talent.”

The sale of the new plot at Innoparc Albatros was made official on 11 January at Saint-Eustache Town Hall.

Mayor Pierre Charron said: “We are extremely proud that AP&C — the flagship of its industry — has decided to multiply its activities in Innoparc Albatros, thereby making a big contribution to Saint-Eustache’s economy.

"Innovation breeds more innovation, and we are confident that AP&C’s increased presence will bring new business to our techno-park and encourage other high-tech firms to come here.”

AP&C specialises in the production of spherical metal powder for the additive-manufacturing sector, especially titanium and nickel-based alloys.

The company’s primary markets are the aerospace and biomedical sectors, and its metal powders are supplied to customers in over 40 countries.

The company recently announced that it will begin producing aluminium alloy F357 powder this year to meet increasing demand from the aerospace and automotive sectors.
