US-based PPG (www.ppg.com) — a global supplier of paints, coatings and specialty materials — is to acquire Hemmelrath, a family-owned manufacturer of coatings for automotive OEMs.

Based in Klingenberg am Main in Germany, Hemmelrath supplies automotive plants world-wide, and more than seven million vehicles are coated with its products each year.

The company has two manufacturing facilities in Germany, plus plants in China, Brazil and the USA.
