BAE Systems expands in USA

BAE Systems expands in USABAE Systems (, the third-largest defence contractor in the world, has signed a lease or a 200,000ft2 campus in Manchester, New Hampshire.

This is the latest in a series of strategic investments in its facilities and workforce to prepare for projected business growth.

The company already has a large New Hampshire presence, with more than 6,000 people employed at a number of sites across the state.

The new campus will have up to 800 employees when it is fully staffed. Ray Brousseau, deputy general manager of the company’s Electronic Systems division, said: “BAE Systems has a long and rich history in New Hampshire.

“Our investment in the new Manchester campus will enable us to tap into the talented local workforce to expand our
capacity and improve our ability to deliver high-quality products.”

The Electronic Systems division has its headquarters in Nashua and hired nearly 2,000 people in 2018. It has also expanded its operations in Austin (Texas) and Huntsville (Alabama).

In Austin, the company has hired more than 150 people in the last year; in Huntsville, it is developing a $45.5 million ‘state of the art’ facility that will create hundreds of jobs over the coming years.

The company is also expanding its Combat Vehicles manufacturing network in Aiken (South Carolina), Anniston (Alabama), Elgin (Oklahoma) and York (Pennsylvania).
