Telestack to invest £5 million in Omagh factoryOmagh-based Telestack, which designs and manufactures mobile bulk material-handling systems for a wide range of applications, is to invest £5 million in a new factory on the Doogary Industrial Estate.

The first phase of this development — on a green-field site next to the company’s existing 105,000ft2 factory — will add 45,000ft2 — comprising a ‘state of the art’ manufacturing facility, an R&D centre and a modern office suite.

Employing almost 160 people, Telestack (a subsidiary of US-based Astec) has more than doubled its sales in the last three years, and its recent investments include a new shot-blasting unit plus two paint booths.

Managing director Martin Dummigan ( said: “We have out-grown our current facility, and we need to extend our manufacturing footprint to meet the international demand for our products. We have a unique skills base in Omagh and we need to protect our engineering acumen.

"The market-place has become somewhat flooded with companies that try to copy our designs, but you simply can’t buy experience.

"We have the commitment and the enthusiasm to forge ahead and continue leading the market, hence the purpose-built R&D centre.

"As we move through 2019, Telestack will be recruiting for a variety of disciplines, including manufacturing, design, sales and after-market support.”
