United Wagon Co (UWC) (www.uniwagon.com)— Russia’s leading manufacturer of freight cars — is to supply 700 hopper cars to Trade House RIF (one of Russia’s largest exporters of cereal crops) to transport grain and grain-mill products. Shipments should be completed by the end of September.

The 19-9549 hopper car has a volume increased to 120m³, and bogies with a larger axle load (25 tonnes) allow the full loading capacity of the car (76 tonnes) to be used.

This means that the fleet of cars can be reduced by almost 10%, increasing operational efficiency.

This latest model can be accommodated at all loading and unloading terminals and is fully compatible with the existing infrastructure.

Five loading hatches allow for the even distribution of freight within the car, which is sealed to reliably protect the contents from rain.

Moreover, the overhaul ‘mileage’ has been significantly extended — to 1 million km or eight years.
