Leeds-based PC Fabrications, a steel and aluminium fabricator, has benefitted from significant savings after investing in a Noblegen nitrogen generation system for its laser cutting machine — supplied by MBA Engineering (
www.mba-eng.co.uk).
Having previously bought nitrogen in bulk pack form, PC Fabrications can now produce its own in-house. The system is set to run as required, so no nitrogen is wasted, and there is no need to stop production in order to replace gas cylinders — a process that costs time and money.
Paul Close, PC Fabrications’ managing director, said: “The investment really speaks for itself.
“The monthly savings mean that the company will have paid off the cost of the nitrogen generation system in less than three years, and the generation system takes up less space than storing gas cylinders.
“Knowing that support from the MBA Engineering team is available 24/7 is incredibly reassuring, when down-time can be so costly to a manufacturer.”
Bradley McBain, MBA Engineering’s managing director, said: “One of our key aims is to provide valuable cost savings to our customers and help reduce their overheads.
“Combining the British-made nitrogen generation system with a laser cutting system creates a sustainable cost-effective laser cutting solution.
“As well as providing the equipment, we will also manage the installation and provide complete support, once it is in situ.”
