CGTech holds ‘Lunch & Learn’ eventCGTech — the developer of Vericut CNC simulation, verification and optimisation software — has partnered with Kyocera SGS and LMg Solutions to hold an event designed to demonstrate emerging technologies that help manufacturers achieve productivity improvements.

Taking place at the Kyocera SGS head office in Wokingham on 22 May, the ‘Lunch & Learn’ event has the theme of ‘Single-operation manufacture and optimisation of complex components’.

Visitors will hear how to apply new technologies designed to make significant time savings, to improve cutting tool and machine life, and to reduce the cost of manufacturing machined components for the aerospace and automotive sectors.

CGTech will highlight the features and benefits of its Vericut Force milling module, using both live software demonstrations and presentations.

Force is a physics-based tool-path optimisation module that determines the maximum reliable feed rate for a given cutting condition — based on force on the cutter, spindle power, maximum chip thickness and maximum allowable feed rate.

It calculates ideal feed rates by analysing tool geometry and parameters, material properties of the stock and cutting tool, detailed cutting-edge geometry, and cut-by-cut contact conditions provided by Vericut.
