Burlescombe-based XYZ Machine Tools (www.xyzmachinetools.com) has announced the planned opening of a dedicated service, repair and refurbishment centre in Nuneaton and an expansion of its team of service engineers.

This new facility will provide a stand-alone training facility for new engineers and an opportunity for already experienced engineers to refresh their skills.

Managing director Nigel Atherton said: “In the past, we have had a system of training where new service engineers have shadowed our experienced engineers.

“This has worked well, but we can see the benefits of a dedicated facility, where machines will be available to work on, and we can introduce and fault-find specific problems.

“This ‘fault-find and fix’ regime will provide a much broader training programme for our new engineers to ensure a speedier service for customers.”

To provide the range of machines on which these service engineers can train, the new facility will also become home to XYZ’s stock of used machines.

As these machines come into stock, the engineers will refurbish them ready for sale, as well as use them as test vehicles for service training.

Mr Atherton added: “Service is a vital component of any machine tool business, which is why we are continuing to invest in training and enhanced customer support.

“This new facility and expanded service team will give a further boost to XYZ Machine Tools’ reputation for high standards and a high-quality service.”
