The company behind the self-adhesive cable clip has been acquired by one of Birmingham’s longest-established manufacturers.

Brandauer, which specialises in metal pressings and stampings, has purchased CB Cable Clips in a deal that will safeguard three jobs and create two new positions (www.brandauer.co.uk).

Under new ownership, it is expected that CB Cable Clips can double its £110,000 annual sales in the first 12 months.

This is the first acquisition Brandauer has made in its 157-year history; it is part of an ambitious plan to achieve a £10 million turnover by the end of 2020.

Rowan Crozier, CEO of Brandauer, said: “We have been manufacturing the CB Cable Clip range under a sub-contract agreement for more than 40 years, so it seemed logical to incorporate the business into Brandauer.

"We knew the quality and the customer service expected, we knew the delivery patterns, and — most significantly — it was another product we could add to our growing range.

"We are already looking to double the size of the team, and we believe there is an opportunity to access new markets and customers.”

The CB Cable Clip range of versatile self-adhesive aluminium cable clips offers a quick, strong and economical method of fixing round, bunched or ribbon cables easily — and without causing damage — to clean dry surfaces.

Since the invention came to market in 1972, it is estimated that over 566 million of the clips have been used around the world.
