Machining micro-sized workpiece surfaces can be a challenge, but machine shops can now achieve superior surface-finish quality, accuracy and precision with the new JM100 Mini end mill series from Alcester-based Seco Tools (UK) Ltd (
www.secotools.com).
Indeed, the company says that these tools can be applied in tight-tolerance micro-machining operations on hard materials (up to 65HRC) where there is zero or low visibility of the workpiece and cutting tool.
As part of the wide — and expanding — Jabro range of solid-carbide end mills, the JM100 is said to deliver high levels of tool life, stability and surface quality, thanks to its extremely precise geometries, virtually zero run-out, advanced coatings and tight radius tolerances.
Designed to achieve precise surface finishes on mould-and-die components, the JM100 Mini also helps machine shops to minimise secondary benchwork, thereby cutting overall production time.
The JM100 Mini is available in two and three-flute versions with tool diameters from 0.2 to 3.0mm and corner radii ranging from 0.05 to 0.3mm.
