Retford-based Langley Holdings (a family-owned engineering group established in 1975) (
www.langleyholdings.com) has acquired Marelli Motori (the Italian electric-motor and generator manufacturer) (
www.marellimotori.com) from the Carlyle Group.
The transaction, which included the full repayment of Marelli Motori’s bank debt of 55 million euros by Langley, was completed in Milan on 23 May for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in northern Italy in 1891, Marelli Motori enjoys world-wide brand recognition in the marine, oil and gas, power generation, co-generation and other industrial sectors.
The company employs around 900 people and has extensive manufacturing facilities in Italy and Malaysia, plus subsidiaries in Germany, the USA, the UK and South Africa.
It supplies its products to customers in more than 120 countries.
