Somerset-based Rotamec Ltd (
www.rotamec.com), a mechanical and electrical engineering company, has bought a motor rewind and repair company in South Wales with the help of a finance package provided by NatWest.
Rotamec’s acquisition of Pontypool Rewinds Ltd builds on its aims of “expanding into new areas of the UK and becoming a market leader in ‘critical parts’ engineering”.
Founded in 2000 by managing director Simon Brooks, Rotamec provides a range of engineering services to large companies in the South West of England, primarily within the food and drink sector.
The expanded business, which employs more than 50 people, will now operate from three sites — in Cheddar, Exeter and its new location in South Wales.
Mr Brooks said: “The acquisition of Pontypool Rewinds is the first step in a growth strategy for Rotamec, one that will enable us to better serve the area of South Wales and beyond, as we aim to significantly grow the business.
“Since 2000, Rotamec has become one of the leading critical parts engineering firms in the South of England and we look forward to realising the full extent of our growth aspirations in the months ahead as we gear up for further acquisitions.”
