Sheffield-based CW Fletcher, a precision engineering company with customers in a wide range of industry sectors, including aerospace, nuclear and space exploration, has signed a long-term contract worth £160 million with Rolls-Royce plc.
This is the most valuable deal secured by the company in its 126-year history.
Managing director Steve Kirk said: “This is hugely significant for every one of us at CW Fletcher, and it represents many months of work.
“The contract forms a key part of our growth strategy, which will also see the start of our new facility in Sheffield add a further 2,000m
2 of manufacturing space and secure the future of our 200-strong workforce.
“We are confident that the future is bright for advanced manufacturing in Sheffield.”
CW Fletcher specialises in providing machined fabrications — in ordinary and exotic metallic materials — up to 2m in diameter.
Its modern Sterling Works undertakes five-axis milling, CNC turning, heat treatment, pressing, sheet-metal work, non-destructive testing and a range of welding techniques.
