Thyssen Krupp expands co-operation in BangaloreThe Indian aerospace industry is growing steadily, and international original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are purchasing ever-greater numbers of components from India.

The latter are also responding to the ‘Make in India’ campaign, which highlights opportunities in aerospace technology.

The materials services company Thyssen Krupp Aerospace recognised this trend early and opened its own site in Bangalore in 2015.

One of its key customers is Dynamatic Technologies Ltd (DTL) (www.dynamatics.com).

During the Paris Air Show, the two companies announced that Thyssen Krupp will provide third-party logistics services to DTL, including just-in-time deliveries of finished aircraft components for the construction of the Airbus A330 ‘flap-tracks’.

Gopi Hanumanthappa, managing director of Thyssen Krupp Aerospace in India (www.thyssenkrupp.com), said: “The expansion of our co-operation is an absolute sign of confidence and confirms our good relationship.

“In addition to good performance, communication is very important; fully understanding our customer’s needs enabled us to offer a convincing individual solution — plus there is the advantage of both companies being based in Bangalore, which has developed into a ‘cluster’ for aerospace technology.”

Thyssen Krupp Aerospace supplies the required materials just-in-time, machined exactly to customer specifications.

The company has a global network of more than 2,000 employees at 44 locations in over 20 countries.
