ITC invests in Anca grinding centre Continued growth at Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) has seen the Tamworth-based cutting-tool specialist (www.itc-ltd.co.uk) take delivery of a new Anca MX7 Linear grinding centre, which has been designed for companies that demand maximum productivity while remaining flexible to meet the needs of their customers.

This is the fourth Anca grinding centre to arrive at ITC since the company extended its manufacturing facility by over 50% in 2016.

The company has invested well over £1.5 million in ‘state of the art’ manufacturing equipment to extend its product ranges.

Capable of processing tools up to 300mm long with diameters up to 200mm, the MX7 Linear uses Anca LinX linear motors and scales for axis motion, precision and performance.

It has high axis speeds and acceleration rates, leading to reduced cycle times while maintaining smooth axis motion. Providing high torque at lower speeds makes it particularly suitable for carbide grinding.

From a precision perspective, the new machine incorporates a bi-symmetrical gantry design that is proven for ultra high-precision grinding.

Evenly straddling the tool centre line, it delivers high levels of rigidity and resistance to thermal growth, while keeping vibration to a minimum.

In addition, the grinder has been specified with automatic in-process measurement and compensation.

From a productivity perspective, the new addition incorporates an Anca FastLoad-MX automation system.
