The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) has confirmed that Andrew Hodgson, Siemens’ strategic lead (digitalisation), has been appointed as vice-president of the association.
He has been a member of the MTA Board for a number of years and also chairs the Association’s technical committee, which looks at advanced manufacturing technologies (such as additive manufacturing), automation and industry standards.
James Selka, the MTA’s CEO, said: “We’re extremely pleased to welcome Mr Hodgson to the role of vice-president of the MTA. He has been a dedicated member of our Board, and his level of expertise has been of great benefit to our technical committee.
“We look forward to working even more closely together, especially in relation to the enormous opportunities for increased productivity in UK manufacturing that accelerating digitalisation brings.”
Mr Hodgson said: “It is a great honour to be appointed as the MTA’s vice president.
“Our association works hard to both represent and inform our members in a fast-changing manufacturing environment.
“I look forward to working even closer with Mr Selka and his team, ensuring that we continue to progress as an association and accurately reflect the diverse range of technologies we champion.”
