Open Mind Technologies AG has announced a co-operative agreement with CFturbo to provide a complete design-to-manufacture work-flow process for producing turbo-machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, fans and blowers.

CFturbo is a leader in the turbo-machinery sector, with design software that takes businesses from conceptual design through to complete 3-D models.

The agreement with Open Mind will enable designers of turbo-machinery to take their concepts beyond 3-D models and through to complete CAM models for production.

The companies say this collaboration will accelerate the product development and production processes for designers and manufacturers, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency.

CFturbo said: “The CFturbo software platform provides an integrated and streamlined approach to turbo-machinery design that enables users to rapidly proceed from conceptual design through meshing and 3-D CAD platforms and onward to CFD and FEA simulation, complete CAE work-flows and analysis, followed by testing and validation.

The co-operation with Open Mind now allows CFturbo users to go on to complete CAM NC programming for production, using the HyperMill CAM solution for 2.5-D, 3-D, five-axis, HSC/HPC and mill-turning processes, as well as the software’s special applications and automation solutions.
