‘Turnkey Excellence’ at ETG Open House

‘Turnkey Excellence’ at ETG Open HouseThree new UK launches of machining cells — along with the first ‘showcase’ of HK Technologies’ latest 3-D printing, EDM and laser marking technology — will be the main highlights of the Engineering Technology Group’s (ETG) Open House (being held 2-3 October).

Over 150 visitors are expected to attend the two-day ‘Discover Turnkey Excellence’ event at ETG’s Wellesbourne headquarters, where the emphasis will be on new advances in CNC machining and additive manufacturing.

They will get a ‘first look’ at live production demonstrations on the new Quaser UX500 twin-pallet machine (with 15,000 and 24,000rev/min spindles), the Nakamura MX100 (a ‘fusion’ of a five-axis machining centre and a lathe), and the Bavius TR80 machining centre (this offers ‘dynamic’ five-axis simultaneous machining on steel and titanium).

Following its recent acquisition of HK Technologies, ETG has added several new ranges to its portfolio, and these will also be on display, including Markforged and 3D Systems for 3-D printing/ additive-manufacturing equipment, along with Mitsubishi and OPS Ingersoll with their latest EDM offerings.

ETG managing director Martin Doyle said: “This will be our biggest Open House yet and a perfect way to celebrate 25 years in business.

“Over the last 12 months, we have seen demand for turn-key solutions hit record highs, with customers choosing to ‘bespoke’ their machines through additional automation, high-performance probes and CAD/CAM software.

‘Discover Turnkey Excellence’ puts all of the technology we offer under one roof.

“It is important to get the message across that ETG is more than just a supplier of machines.

“We evaluate customer requirements, design the best solution, tailor the package, implement the cell and then continue with on-going support.”

In addition to the new launches, the Open House will feature live demonstrations of a Chiron DZ15 machining cell, an ABB Flexloader SC3000 cell with vision system, and a Bridgeport Hardinge XR1000 with automation.
