The high volume of top-quality parts produced on this machine quickly established the reputation of his fledgling business, and its order book continues to grow.
Mr Street says: “Although the manufacture of high-quality components is our absolute priority, the volume of work that our Citizen M32VIII can get through enables us to give extremely competititve quotes to our customers. This recently enabled us to land a substantial contract with a major aerospace customer, which has prompted me to seek AS9100 accreditation.
“In addition to our investment in production, our commitment to quality is illustrated by our investment in a ‘state of the art’ Venture 2510 CNC vision/probe measuring system, from Baty International. As with our major machine tool purchase, we felt that our choice of the most appropriate measuring technology was critical to the success
of the company.
“Our high quality standards, allied to the volume of diverse work expected to pass through our inspection department, meant that we required not only an accurate and flexible solution but also a fast one. Having researched the available options, we chose the CNC version of the Baty Venture optical measuring device.
“Now in constant use, this advanced measuring system is able to get through a phenomenal amount of inspection work. Also, as we are able to recall previously written part programs, we can undertake many of our measuring routines in a rapid, fully automatic mode.”
