#aerospace #aviation Bombardier Aerospace anticipates that the first test-flight of the long-awaited #CSeries aircraft will take place at the end of June.
The aircraft’s maiden flight was originally planned for the end of 2012, but delays have pushed the test-flight back. The inaugural flight at Montréal’s Mirabel International Airport — where the CSeries test flight vehicles are — may be timed to coincide with the Paris Air Show (one of the largest international trade events being held 17-23 June) to gain maximum publicity.
There will be a lot riding on the CSeries, as it is key to Bombardier’s aviation industry position; how it fares technically and in the market is critical to the company.
Kevin Chiang of CIBC World Markets said: “The success of the first flight will be used as a barometer to gauge the ability of Bombardier to execute on its CSeries programme.”
