XYZ to expand into Europe

#ukmfg #EMO Plans to double the level of machine tool sales into mainland Europe to 20% of UK turnover have been set in motion by Burlescombe-based XYZ Machine Tools Ltd www.xyzmachinetools.com.

Managing director Nigel Atherton has appointed Andrew Kilshaw as export sales manager. He has sales and management experience backed by time spent in tool making and the automotive industry. His brief is to adapt the well-proven UK sales strategy — based on showroom and demonstration centres, marketing and branding — to individual country requirements.

The initial focus for this initiative will be Germany, France, Scandinavia and certain Eastern European countries. Distributors have already been set up in most areas, and the German distributor Amz Flott — a drilling machine specialist based in Remscheid, near Düsseldorf — will be promoting XYZ products at the EMO exhibition in Hanover during September.

With sales topping 1,000 machines a year, XYZ is the largest supplier of CNC machines (by volume) in the UK.
