The car has created close to 9,000 new jobs in the UK in the last two years alone. This includes 2,000 new engineers and 350 people who have been hired as a direct result of the new F-Type model.
According to Ian Harnett, the purchasing director of Jaguar Land Rover, the contracts to support the vehicle will also create thousands of new jobs. “As one of the leading investors in automotive research and development in the UK, Jaguar Land Rover generates several billion pounds of economic activity here every year.
We are working with world-class suppliers to strengthen the UK’s automotive supply base and support our ambitious plans for growth.”
The F-Type itself is now heading to customers around the world. It will be sold in more than 170 countries, with the USA likely to be the largest market. It has been designed, manufactured and engineered at the Castle Bromwich factory, with all aluminium construction carried out at the 14,000m
