Retrofitting conventional flywheel presses

New presses from Schuler (www.schulergroup.com) have been successfully using the company's ServoDirect technology for several years.

With the aid of its Dualdrive technology, it is now possible to retrofit conventional flywheel presses with this new technology, thereby boosting the productivity of existing presses by as much as 50%.

The new servo-drive allows users to freely program the slide speed before and after the forming phase; the flywheel is only moved by the existing flywheel during the forming phase, shortening the cycle time and expanding the range of possible product variants.
