The Engine Shed project is funded principally by Bristol City Council and the University of Bristol, with some Government funding as part of the City Deal scheme.
It is to be managed by the university’s ‘business incubator’, Bristol SETsquared. Located in the Bristol Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, the Engine Shed is set to be a permanent base for 20 companies and to provide facilities for 40 more.
Nick Sturge, director of Bristol SETsquared, said: “This is an exciting project. We are delighted that work is now under way to deliver the iconic space that we have planned for.”
