#rtek #honda R-TEK, which supplies car interior parts to Honda from its plant in Merthyr (and also supplies Nissan in the North East), has reported that its profits doubled in 2012, as a result of increased demand at the Japanese car manufacturer’s plant in Swindon.
During the year to 31 December, turnover was up £19.5 million (at £92.9 million), while overall profit doubled to £7.9 million and pre-tax profits rose from £5.2 million to £10.5 million.
Established in 1991 as a joint venture between the French company J Reydel and Kasai Kogyo Co of Japan, R-TEK is now wholly owned by Kasai Kogyo after the latter bought out its partner’s stake last year.
