Lyn Evans (pictured), who is the director of CERN’s Large Hadron Collider project in Geneva, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Made in Wales Awards.
Dubbed Evans the Atom, the physicist was part of the team that identified a sub-atomic particle in 2012 that may turn out to be the sought-after Higgs boson.
Mr Evans, who is originally from Aberdare, studied at the University College of Swansea (now Swansea University). The Made in Wales Awards will be presented at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff on 23 October.
