The US automotive-parts manufacturer Johnson Controls Inc has opened a new production plant in Queretaro, Mexico, to produce moulded polyurethane foam for automotive seats. Construction of the new plant was completed in October, and production commenced last month. The 100,000ft2 plant will supply seating foam to major vehicle makers in central Mexico; it currently has one foam line and employs 250 people.
Brian Cooke, vice-president and general manager of the Milwaukee-based company, said: “Johnson Controls is strongly committed to producing world-class automotive
seating systems and is proud to bring this new facility to Queretaro.”
