A highlight on the stand of Milton-Keynes-based Axe & Status (
www.axestatus.com) will be one of the company’s Target QV series of vertical machining centres (Hall 5 Stand 5765).
There are six machines in the QV range, with work envelopes ranging from 1,100 x 710 x 610mm (QV117 with a weight of 9,000kg) to 2,000 x 900 x 850mm (QV209 with a weight of 16,000kg).
Power and rigidity are a particular feature of QV machines; they have four box slideways for the Y axis, and a 25hp BT50 spindle with a maximum speed of 8,000rev/min. Also included are a through-spindle coolant facility, a 24-tool ATC and a chip conveyor.
Control is via a Fanuc 0i MD. Axe & Status have a special introductory offer on the QV147, which has a work envelope of 1,400 x 710 x 610mm.
