Elkamet Inc is to spend more than $2.5 million expanding its plastics manufacturing plant in Henderson County in North Carolina — a move that will result in the creation of 20 jobs.
The company makes extruded profiles from industrial polymer materials for the automotive industry, as well as container tanks for fuel and hydraulic systems used in utility vehicles and motorcycles.
The German-owned company opened the facility —its first in North America — in 2006. It previously carried out a $2 million expansion in 2011, which doubled the size of the plant and added 10 jobs.
A total of 54 full-time workers are currently employed there.
