Eaton is to create 100 jobs at its hydraulics manufacturing facility in Havant, Hampshire. The £2 million investment programme will help the company to offer industry-leading
delivery times for its X20 pumps, which are used in road sweepers, wheel loaders and agricultural vehicles.
Plant manager Mark Foreman said: “We are expecting to see an upsurge in demand for open-circuit piston pumps in the next few years, as the manufacturers of original equipment increase production to meet their orders.
"This would normally mean that lead times would increase for products such as the X20 pump, but this investment in the Havant plant means that we can actually reduce lead times to about half of the current industry standard.”
The company, which currently employs 182 people at the facility, said that the additional jobs will be created over the next five years.
