Lambert Smith-Hampton (LSH) has been appointed by the Ministry of Defence to act as the marketing agent for BAE Systems’ shipbuilding site in Portsmouth. The defence group announced in November that it plans to end ship building at its site in Portsmouth naval base, although it will continue with ship maintenance there.

The first stage in marketing the facilities to other potential occupiers came last month with the publication of a site prospectus by DIO, the MoD’s property and services provider. LSH will now be responsible for marketing the facilities to interested bidders and managing a campaign asking for expressions of interest. The facilities available include the ship hall, dock, plate-cutting facilities, workshops and offices. Interested parties should call 01489 579579.
