Coventry-based Brose UK is to create 300 jobs after winning a contract to supply window regulators for the new Nissan Qashqai. The German-owned automotive supplier has established an additional 7,000m2 facility in Courtaulds Way to meet demand from the Japanese car manufacturer and other customers, including Jaguar Land Rover and Toyota.
Managing director Thomas Kohlbauer said: “The Nissan contract is the latest in a number of successes for our UK operation and reinforces investment in our operations at Coventry. This deal drove our decision to create a new world-class window regulator production facility, which is now up and running, with highly trained staff operating ‘state of the art’ machinery. This gives us the ability to meet predicted volumes for Nissan, Toyota and JLR, while also providing the capacity to explore new opportunities in this market.”
Mr Kohlbauer added: “Nearly 500 people work in Brose UK’s two factories, and the number will increase to 800 over the next few years.” German parent company Brose employs nearly 22,000 people at 58 locations in 23 countries.
