TNC training for engineering students

TNC training for engineering studentsRotherham-based Brinsworth Academy of Engineering has invested in 15 seats of Heidenhain Interactive Training (www.heidenhaingb.com) to give its mechanical-engineering trainees a modern and relevant route to understanding three- and five-axis programming with TNC control systems.

The training will provide clear explanations of TNC programming principles, on-screen animations of TNC functionality, a detailed training work-book and example exercises.

According to employment engagement manager Daniel Swift, the investment was made after a review of the academy’s training software.

"We immediately saw that HIT offered a much more current software training route than our existing systems, which were installed in 2008.

"In addition to the fact that the HIT software ‘simplifies’ the technicalities of — for example — 360deg projections and has very user-friendly tutorials, it was also clear that the system is very relevant to many of the organisation that we work with, since they use a lot of machines controlled by Heidenhain TNC systems.”

Established in 1998 after the demise of the Engineering Industry Training Board, Brinsworth Academy of Engineering was established to provide specialist and bespoke engineering training.

It quickly grew to become South Yorkshire’s leading provider of engineering and manufacturing training.
