Automobili Lamborghini is to produce its Urus sport utility vehicles (SUVs) at Volkswagen Group’s Slovakian factory from 2017.

The Italian company plans to sell 3,000-4,000 units per year. The Bratislava factory currently makes the VW Touareg, as well as bodies for the Bentley SUV.

VW is currently up-grading the facility, which has recently installed its largest-ever metal press to manufacture steel and aluminium body panels for the Urus, Cayenne, Q7 and Touareg models, as well as the Bentley vehicles.
