The Indian state of Gujarat is becoming an important manufacturing hub, according to India’s Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Speaking in Ahmedabad, the business group’s secretary-general DS Rawat said: “Gujarat is emerging as a prominent manufacturing investment hub across the country, with the second-highest share of investment in both transport and chemicals.”

Releasing a report entitled Investments in the manufacturing sector, Mr Rawat said that the most successful Indian state in terms of attracting investment over the past two years has been Jharkhand, followed by Odisha.
