Bury-based Roxtec (
www.roxtec.com/uk) has won a contract to supply one of the largest and deepest oil-field developments in the North Sea.
The manufacturer of cable and pipe seals is to work with BP on the Quad 204 project, where a new floating, production, storage and off-loading (FPSO) unit is being built.
Roxtec is providing deck seals for the hull, top sides and living quarters of the FPSO, which is being built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea.
Managing director Graham O’Hare (pictured) said: “We are working in partnership with the yard to supply a range of bespoke products that will seal stainless-steel tubes. The new FPSO was designed in the UK and is being constructed in South Korea; hook-up and commissioning will take place upon arrival in the North Sea.
“As a global company, we can provide support to the project from our bases in the UK and South Korea for the lifespan of this project.”
Construction work will be completed later this summer; oil production should begin in 2017.
