Leicester-based Cressall Resistors has worked with Focus Management for Business to produce a set of NVQ training programmes in business improvement techniques for its factory-floor team; these programmes have proved very successful.
They cover environmental health and safety, line management and sustainable business improvements. Focus Management for Business secured funding to minimise the cost of the training programmes.
Managing director Cy Wilkinson said: “Electrical manufacturing — and manufacturing overall, for that matter — is continually evolving, with new processes and guidelines. By ensuring that our training is up to date, Cressall can develop a more efficient workforce and thus a better end product.
“Over the last few years, we have provided training for different levels of workforce development — from Level 2 to Level 4 qualifications. We are working to put some of the team through another set of qualifications, so there’s no doubt that training is an on-going process.”
