Now available from the LVD Group (
www.lvdgroup.com) — a manufacturer of sheet- and plate-working machinery that includes laser cutting systems, punch presses, press brakes and guillotines — is the ToolCell system for press brakes; this houses all tooling inside the machine and automatically performs tooling set-ups.
A large selection of top and bottom tooling is stored in a compartment under the back-gauge; tool changing is undertaken by a gripper that is built into the machine’s back-gauge finger. When a job is complete, the press brake automatically changes the top and bottom tooling as required for the next job. All tooling is precisely positioned, eliminating the need for manual adjustments.
Meanwhile, LVD’s patented Easy-Form Laser in-process angle monitoring and correction technology ensures ‘first part, good part’ bending accuracy. A 19in touch-screen display is said to make operation both easy and intuitive.
Taking advantage of this tool-changing technology is a new 220-tonne 3m press brake; this complements the existing 220-tonne 4m and 135-tonne 3m models.
