Open House for surface-finishing solutions

Open House for surface-finishing solutions The recent Open House held by Dorset-based Ellesco — the deburring and surface-finishing machine specialist (www.ellesco.co.uk) — provided an opportunity for manufacturers who showed an interest at MACH to trial their parts on the Timesavers range of grinding and sanding machines (and resulted in a number of orders).

Managing director Guy Newton said: “We sold machines from our stand at MACH, but this event allows prospective customers to bring their parts with deburring and surface-finishing issues to an environment where our experts can discuss suitable solutions. We expect to receive five orders from this exercise, with another seven in the pipeline — ranging from simple belt and brush finishing machines to robotic loading cells for complex component finishing.”

The Open House attracted a number of OEMs from the aerospace and automotive sectors, plus sub-contract manufacturers from all parts of the UK and Ireland. Ellesco demonstrated the new Timesavers 42-series WRB machine (a wheel and rotary brush machine developed for the dry working, edge deburring and finishing of flat metal components), the 42-series TB (for deburring the top and bottom faces of punched, laser-cut, water-jet-cut and flame-cut parts in one pass) and the 22-series WB (a more compact solution with a wide belt and brush for the deburring and finishing of sheet-metal parts).

Mr Newton added: “As well as running the three new machines, we also had four static units to demonstrate the diversity of the Timesavers series. We feel that our visitors left with a greater knowledge of what Ellesco can provide as a complete supplier of surface-finishing solutions.”
