Derby-based aerospace giant Rolls-Royce has announced that Hawaiian Airlines is buying six Airbus A330-800neo aircraft powered by its Trent 7000 engine.
These will replace six A350-800 aircraft that the airline already has on order.
Mark Dunkerley, the CEO of Hawaiian Airlines, said: “We look forward to operating the Trent 7000 engine on the A330-800neo. As an operator of the Trent 700 on our A330-200s and the BR715 on our Boeing 717s, we are pleased that our partnership with Rolls-Royce will grow.”
The Trent engine family has accumulated more than 75 million flight hours over the last 19 years.
