Chester-based Chester Machine Tools Ltd (www.chestermachinetools.com) recently completed the installation and commissioning of machines at the new Saudi Petroleum Service Polytechnic (SPSP) al-Khafji training college, which is on the border of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

This project saw Chester supply 20 Challenger lathes (pictured), a U40 milling machine, a GP35A drilling machine, a pair of 812 bandsaws and a wide variety of ancillary tooling products. The machines will be used for training students who will go on to work in the oil and gas industry.

Chester, which has been working in the Middle East for more than 10 years, is continuing to expand its export business and is currently working on projects there, as well as in Africa, Asia and Indonesia.
