Jaguar unveiled its new XE saloon at a ceremony at Earls Court last week that was accompanied by a Red Arrows fly-past. The company said that the car is its attempt to re-enter the volume sector. Only the XE S model was on display; the full range will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show on 2 October.
The 3.0-litre V6 XE S, which is being manufactured in a purpose-built aluminium bodyshop at the JLR plant in Solihull, will be the ‘top of the range’ model when the marque goes on sale next year. However, it is the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel model that is predicted to be the biggest seller, especially with executive fleet buyers. The XE range will be priced from £27,000.
