A joint venture set up by Plymouth’s Porter-ledge Renewable Ltd and Bristol-based One Wind Renewables has built a 500KW wind turbine in Holsworthy, Devon, with the capacity to power 300 homes. Julian Hodge Bank, which is based in Cardiff, agreed to lend the company £780,000.
Paul Green, a relationship manager at the bank, said: “From our point of view, wind turbines are a very viable funding proposition. Fully approved schemes like this one meet all our lending requirements, and we foresee more opportunities to support this expanding sector.”
The company has planning consent for three more wind turbines in the South West, which could potentially bring Julian Hodge Bank’s total investment to £4.6 million.
