The Government’s GROW: Offshore Wind service (
www.growoffshorewind.com) has announced two fast-track funding programmes to support company growth in the offshore wind sector.
Up to £2.5 million is available for capital investments and up to £2 million for investments in innovation projects. Applications are sought by 15 October from English companies that can use this funding over the next six months. They will be assessed on their ability to create jobs and to develop market presence in the offshore wind supply chain.
Dominic Brown, head of GROW: Offshore Wind, said: “We are excited about the potential of both programmes to help us connect with English companies and fast-track their investment plans. Streamlining the approvals process will enable them to commence their investment plans by early November, ensuring that they are in the best possible position to take advantage of the opportunities that are out there. Up to £500,000 of grant funding is available for successful applicants, to support a wide variety of projects.”
The GROW: Offshore Wind service has so far helped almost 600 firms with projects that included the acquisition of ‘state of the art’ machinery, relocating to new premises and unlocking new technologies and products.
