A substantial recruitment drive by global engineering firm Renishaw is set to create a variety of new jobs in Stone, Staffordshire, with 11 positions at the company’s Additive Manufacturing Products Division (AMPD).
The roles include machine operators, as well as technicians and engineers with a variety of specialist skills. AMPD recently made the headlines following a collaboration with Empire Cycles that resulted in the world’s first ‘3-D printed’ metal bike frame.
The engineering specialist has almost doubled the number of people it employs over the last five years, and it now has over 3,500 staff globally, with 70 based in Stone. Across the whole of the UK, Renishaw has recruited a record 68 graduates this year (it now receives four-times as many applications as it did in 2011).
A further 150 opportunities each year are created for young people through a mix of apprenticeships and student placements. This dedication to personnel development resulted in a recent visit from Prime Minister David Cameron, who is keen to show his support for British manufacturing.
As well as the opportunities at AMPD, there are more than 70 immediate employment opportunities at other Renishaw locations, including sites in Gloucestershire, Scotland and South Wales.
