The EEF has signed a partnership agreement with the Government’s overseas trade body, UKTI, to help boost exports and attract more businesses to the UK. Representing manufacturers that range from global corporations to SMEs, the EEF aims to support UKTI in achieving the Government’s target of exports worth £1 trillion by 2020.
Signed by UKTI CEO Dominic Jermey and EEF CEO Terry Scuoler, the agreement will see the two organisations working together to build stronger partnerships with manufacturers. It will also boost overseas trade missions and raise awareness of the support available from UKTI.
Mr Scuoler said: “Improving our export performance is key to helping Britain achieve the balanced economy that it needs to deliver long-term stability and growth. We will ensure that manufacturers are aware of the support UKTI provides in finding new markets overseas, as well as smoothing the way for new exporters.”
