No fewer than 40 female graduate engineers from the UK and EU began their MSc courses in a variety of disciplines at Brunel University at the end of September.
Thanks to the Government’s Higher Education Funding Council for England, these students benefit from a full scholarship for their course fees and living costs.
Under the Women in Engineering programme, they will receive a year of mentoring support from senior engineers in industry, make a number of site visits and be equipped with the tools they need to become leaders and ambassadors for the profession.
Women in Engineering’s Petra Gratton said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’re getting from our profession, both in terms of volunteer mentors and in making sure that the other parts of the programme are fully supported.”
